HHO: Introduce yourself to the fans
GC: My name is GC, I’m a 24 year old artist out of Reading, PA. I’m currently independent and have been making music my whole life. It’s been my passion and dream since about 4th grade and haven’t gave it up since.
HHO: How did your artist name come about?
GC: My name actually is my intitials, which I have used since I began pursuing my career. I kept it simple and felt my words would speak for themselves rather than some off the wall name.
HHO: Where are you from?
GC: I was born in Reading, Pennsylvania and have lived in this county my entire life.
HHO: Who were your musical influences growing up?
GC: My biggest influence ironically was Eminem. I had heard his Marshal Mathers LP when I was in 1st grade and it immediately grabbed my attention. As I got older I listened to a lot of 50 Cent, Notorious BIG, Lil Wayne, Jay Z, and the list goes on.
HHO: What hip-hop albums did you grow up listening to?
GC: I would say Marshal Mathers LP, Get Rich Or Die Tryin’, Ready To Die, Blueprint Vol. 2, The Black Album, The Eminem Show, County Grammar were all albums I had growing up playing in my Walkman daily.
HHO: What is the current single/project that you are promoting?
GC: I actually just released my latest mixtape “Inside My Head” on February 28, 2017. It is currently out and available on my SoundCloud, DatPiff & Spinrilla.
HHO: How did the record come about?
GC: I’ve honestly just been writing and recording a lot of music at home. This project was just me capturing an insight as to what goes on inside my head daily.
HHO: What would be your dream collaboration with any rapper or producer?
GC: This one has always been tough for me because I have respect for so many musicians and artists in the industry but definitely would love to work with Eminem or Travis Scott for sure.
HHO: How is the response from your fans & djs been?
GC: My fan base has been growing daily and honestly they’re awesome, they support and show more love to me then people I’ve known my whole entire life. And as far as DJs, I have a single on Mixtape Monopoly’s Catch The Wave 8 and the “Inside My Head” mixtape was hosted by DJ Chophead and I’ve gotten great responses from both.
HHO: What artists do you listen to the most?
GC: Currently I listen to a little of everything, I been listening to Future, Big Sean and Migos new albums a lot recently. I also listen to PNB Rock, Kur, Young Dolph, 21 Savage to name a few.
HHO: What are your plans for 2017? What are you doing that others are not?
GC: This year I’m trying to make the right moves and investments to really turn my dream into my living and provide for my son and family. I’ve been staying to myself and kind of moving in silence I guess you could say.
HHO: How can your fans reach you?
GC: My fans and anyone else can reach me either through my snapchat (@thatbull_gc) or Instagram (@gctherapper) or Twitter (@gcofficialmusic).
HHO: Any last words or shout outs?
GC: I just wanna thank God, my family, my team, friends, fans, and anyone who genuinely believes and supports what I do because it’s a tough industry to get in. And I wanna shout out HipHopOverload for reaching out and blessing me with this opportunity, thank y’all!
